It began as a small standing figure in clay, called a maquette.
This so pleased the artist, he decided to do one of life size
(
Tamino). The bust was developed in ceramic clay
as a stage in the process. It turned out so well
it just had to go to bronze,
an arduous and expensive process. The artist chose a Tucson foundry,
Metalphysics, to cast it.
"I can hear the music", exclaimed the first of the public to view the sculpture fresh from the foundry. For the artist
this was exactly the confirmation he desired.
Magic Flute represents the youthful hero Tamino, of Mozart’s opera, on his
quest for love and wisdom. It is also a loving tribute to a youthful flutist, the artist’s brother Joel, who died 40 years ago.
A timeless work of art,
Magic Flute is offered at the introductory
price of $5.000, plus shipping and handling. Please allow 8 weeks.
