NIGHT FIGURE acryfresco on canvas,32" x 24"
by Alvin Sandler © 2003
Unprimed Belgian linen is the starting point for
this resonanant presence from Tapalpa, Mexico.
A high mountain city in central Mexico, Tapalpa,
with its timber buildings, pine forests, and untouched
timeless character, moved the artist to several paintings
of night images.
With only four pigments, cobalt violet, bone black,
titanium white, and pozuolli red (a volcanic earth),the
artist has with boldness and a very few masterful strokes
realized his intentions.
In a carved rustic frame $1500
