A poetic mood, simplicity, and sophisticated design, combine

Each "proof" is made by the artist’s hand and is unique.
This is an original etching, though its richly textured strokes
might suggest that you are looking at an oil painting.
The artist applies oil-based colors to a prepared surface by
two methods. The first is "intaglio", the method of Rembrandt,
Goya, and other Old Masters. The darkest tones are rubbed
into the granulated forms etched by acid in a metal plate. A
second plate for "relief-viscosity" -- a new technique -- is
prepared in layers of several depths. The colors are applied
with controlled shadings, using large hand rollers of differing
degrees of softness. The softest roller applies color to the
deepest layer. The hardest roller colors only the surface of
the "relief plate". The color is transferred from each plate to
a dampened sheet of fine acid-free art paper by means of
the artist’s etching press. This extraordinary etching can be
