That dazzling moment when light fills
the sky has inspired artists to render the
impossible. Many have attempted it
with mediocre results. Only a few have
evoked a vivid illusion of the experience,
notably Turner and Van Gogh.
Sandler has attempted to paint sunrise
and daybreak in quite a few landscapes.
Some have survived his judgment.
"First Day" is, perhaps, his brightest so
far. Here, resin - oil color contrasts
contrasts deep saturated glazes with
brilliant, textured lights in a broad
primative chromaticism. Mountains,
clouds, landmarks, desert -- all partake
of the artist’s exhilaration in the fresh,
bold beginning of "First Day".
It can be your day. $1200
